Hong Kong IPO Pool A and Pool B: the HK$5 million line
The shares available for public subscription (after any clawback) are divided equally into two pools:
- Pool A: applications for HK$5 million or less;
- Pool B: applications for more than HK$5 million, up to the value of Pool B.
Each pool is allocated on an equitable basis. If one pool is undersubscribed, the surplus moves to the other. You cannot apply for more than the shares originally allocated to each pool, and multiple applications within or across pools are rejected.
"Application value" means offer price × shares applied. The calculator table shows amounts including the 1.00857% charges. Use the application money itself when you check which pool you fall into.
